After we are done with our players in the 20 questions article series, now comes the coaching staff. In this article you can read the chat with our headcoach, Ljubomir Vranjes.
What is your favorite food?
Almost everything. I really like meat and fish, prepared in various ways of course.
What is your favorite drink?
I drink a lot of water and I like wine too. I love different kind of red and white wines.
What is your favorite color?
I am a mood person when it comes to color. I often decide that this week is green and next week is black, so I change colors.
What is your favorite movie?
My favorite movies are the Godfather movies. I like Game of Thrones also.
Who is your favorite actor and/or actress?
I love Al Pacino, Dustin Hoffman and Robert De Niro. Those three are my favorite ones. Actress, I would say Susan Sarandon and every oldschool actresses.
Who is your favorite musician?
I like U2 for example but I listen to a lot of kind of music. Right now I listen to opera in my car when I travel. It is like with colors. One week I listen to opera, next week I like Metallica, the other week it is U2 I listen to.
What is your favorite song?
There are so many great songs that I cannot choose one really. Imagine from John Lennon, is a song that I like listening to when I think about all the things that happen in the world.
What is your favorite book?
I read a lot of psychological books nowadays. I would say my favorite book is from Dostoyevsky, Crime and Punishments. It is really deep and it makes me think a lot.
What is your favorite animal?
I like the gorilla.
What are your habits before a game?
I go through everything we said tactically. Then I listen to some music. Right before the game, I usually work on the small details and remember to be happy.
What is your proudest moment in your career?
It is a little bit difficult because every gold medal, World or Euro championship or Champions League, is a moment to be proud of. However, the people whom you win with, and do the journey with, that I am more proud of. Winning is just one game, but fighting for it for 2 years that is another thing. I am proud that I could do it a couple of times.
Who is your role model?
I do not have a specific role model. I had when I was a player but not from handball. Handball is just a little part of my life. I was a fan of Nelson Mandela, I read all of his books. There are some people, who move me, like Ghandi. I am a little bit oldschool. I like biographies.
What would you be if you were not a handball player?
Probably a football player or if that does not work I would probably have a restaurant, or maybe be a photographer.
Other than handball, which sport do you like the most? Which team and/or player do you support?
Manchester United! If it is not handball then I watch football and I am a fan of Manchester United. There are not many teams that can be compared to MU.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I spend time with my family, I cook and have some wine with it.
Which is the prettiest city you have ever been to?
I like Barcelona, Paris and Budapest now. I love big cities. I travel a lot and every city has its own charm. Gothenburg in the summer has a charm, Stockholm also. I can say Copenhagen too.
What is your dream car?
It is an Aston Martin.
What do you fear the most?
I do not think about it but I fear that my children will be sick very bad. I fear the health of my family.
What is your motto?
I really try to smile everyday when I wake up. Somehow, if you smile, other people will smile. So my motto is to Smile, it is your day.
Are there any skills you wish you had learned?
I would love to learn to play the guitar and sing. I really want to stand in front of twenty-thousand people and sing but I am the worst singer ever.
