After we are done with our players in the 20 questions article series, now comes the coaching staff. In this article you can read the chat with Björn Sätherström.
What is your favorite food?
I like a lot of things, but I have to say I like Italian and Indian food. The last one because of the spiciness.
What is your favorite drink?
My two favorites are water and coffee. I am not really a soda person.
What is your favorite color?
In Sweden we do not consider black and white a color. If it is a color in Hungary than I will say black.
What is your favorite movie?
My favorite is the godfather trilogy and the movies directed by Wes Anderson.
Who is your favorite actor and/or actress?
I really like to watch movies starring Bill Murray. He is very funny.
Who is your favorite musician?
I listen to all kinds of music. I do not have a favorite right now.
What is your favorite song?
It is the same with songs. I do not have a favorite that I listen to often. It depends on the season. I listen to various music in the spring or in the winter. I am season oriented.
What is your favorite book?
I read a lot actually. I liked the Lord of the Rings trilogy, it was fun to read. Also my favorites are the crime series written by Stieg Larsson. Right now I am reading a 6 books series from Kristina Ohlsson. I like her books.
What is your favorite animal?
I am not an animal person. I have never had a pet but if I have to choose, I would choose the tiger because it is powerful and demands a lot of respect.
What are your habits before a game?
Before I get to the gathering in the Arena, I always shave my head and take a shower. When we are warming up, I always sit down to the same chair and I look at the same spot in the audience.
What is your proudest moment in your career?
I am proud of the gold medal we won in the Swedish league with Kristianstad. I am also proud of what we achieved in the World championship in France where I was part of the analytics and video crew. I think it also a proud moment for me when I signed with Veszprém and the Hungarian National Team.
Who is your role model?
I would say my parents. They always support me and give me a lot of good advice in life. They are my role models.
What would you be if you were not a handball coach?
I am actually a teacher. I have a teacher’s degree in English and Physical Education so it is an easy decision. I would be a teacher if I were not a handball coach at the moment.
Other than handball, which sport do you like the most? Which team and/or player do you support?
I support Tottenham in football and the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA. Tottenham is good right now. I think I follow these sports, but because basketball is at night I follow football more.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I do crossfit. I try to find time for an hour of training for myself and I really enjoy it. It takes my mind off of things and I can think of other things than handball. I love to read and spend time with my family. That is all the free time I have.
Which is the prettiest city you have ever been to?
I have been to New York and I really liked it. I have been to Paris and Rome. I am exploring Budapest right now and I like it also. I do not have a favorite but these put the biggest impression on me.
What is your dream car?
I am not a car guy. I actually bought a bike recently. If I have to say something it would be a Volvo Xc90. It is elegant.
What do you fear the most?
The health of my family probably. It is not a fear that I carry around. I do not like insects and snakes.
What is your motto?
It changes from day to day but I found now that I like very much. There is no glory in practice, but without practice, there is no glory.
Are there any skills you wish you had learned?
I would love to learn Hungarian and maybe to play the guitar. These would be really good to know.
