Foreshadow: Veszprém – Balatonfüred

On Sunday at 18:00, Telekom Veszprém will start its journey against the Balatonfüred KSE in the TIPPMIX Hungarian Cup. The semifinal will be broadcasted live on M4 Sport+.

 

 
We will play our second match against Balatonfüred this season, as they have already visited the Veszprém Arena once in the Hungarian championship. However, they could not have had much of a success after our goalkeepers closed the net completely. The first half was given to Vladimir Cupara, who went to rest with 75% defense efficiency after the break. The guests could only score against him four times. In the second half, Rodrigo Corrales arrived, who also did similarly, with 59% efficiency, with Füred scoring a total of 11 goals in the match, while conceding 38th. As Kent Robin Tonnesen said: "We want to repeat this on Sunday."
 
Our opponent joined the Hungarian Cup in the fourth round of the qualifying series. They hosted Budakalász at home, whom they defeated easily, 35:22, and advanced to the next round. In the fifth round, they had to fight against Mezőkövesd to reach the quarterfinals, and they left no doubts. Balatonfüred beat their opponent very easily 18:34, qualifying them to the top four.

 

 
Füred is currently in third place in the Hungarian league, winning 10 matches out of 17 played. They are chased by Tatabánya and Csurgó, two points behind. So far, Gyöngyös, Veszprém, Szeged and Tatabánya have been able to beat them this season. Their last match was played against Komló in away on April 7th. The final result, in a close battle, was 26:30 for Balatonfüred. The most efficient player at the Balaton shore is Balázs Szöllősi with 90 goals.
 
Telekom Veszprém last played against HC Vardar on Thursday and advanced to the Champions League quarterfinal. After a huge away success, the “Építők” also performed well on the home field, and beat the Macedonian champions 39:30.
